The Bison Backcourt Club (BBC) is dedicated to the promotion of traveling youth basketball for boys within District 877 boundaries.
Our primary goal is to provide fair competition and a learning environment that enhances individual player development and team play.
Your votes will help us determine which 501(c)(3) organizations will win. It’s our way of saying thank you—to you, and to the nonprofits making a difference here.
I wanted to take a moment to reach out to you regarding the present health situation facing us as a world, country, and state. As you know, restrictions will be reinstated as of Friday at Midnight, and our basketball season will be on pause. Some of you agree with the decisions that have been made, while others do not. Our responsibility as coaches and parents is to lead by example and teach our son(s)/athletes how to respond in difficult situations like this.
Within our basketball program, we continually talk about important concepts such as:
In addressing these two items, I cannot stress to you enough that we must lead by example. If we do not follow the guidelines, we stand no chance of having any season. If we encourage each other to be smart about who we are around, what we are doing, masking up, etc., we do have a chance for a season. No one thought we would be where we are today, but the reality of it is, here we are. Now we need to own our part and control what we can control.
It is not easy to make the decisions necessary to keep the people around us safe and work together to get back to some kind of "normalcy." Please be smart about what you choose to do, who you surround yourself with, and how you practice your daily health habits.
As Head Coach of our program, I enjoy nothing more than getting to work with your kids in the gym daily. There is something satisfying about the "daily grind" in practice and seeing it pay off on the court come game night. I am optimistic that we will still be able to have a season. However, as a program and community, I believe we all need to act responsibly and do our part to minimize the risk to all of us. Let's control what we can control and do everything we can to get our boys on the court as soon and safely as possible.
There is not a better coaching job in the state of MN than here at Buffalo High School. That is mostly because of you as parents and the way you have raised your kids. Thank you for all you do, for all the support you continue to give us, and for allowing our staff to coach your kids.
The BBC Board is closely monitoring the current situation with youth sports and COVID-19. At this time, we are hoping to be able to compete in tournaments (for traveling basketball).
The constantly changing state of the COVID-19 pandemic will require flexibility as we continue to work with school district guidelines and follow any safety guidance and best practices provided by the CDC and the Minnesota Department of Health.
Due to the uncertain nature of this year’s season, the BBC Board has developed a COVID-19 plan.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we move forward with our 2020-2021 season
