Scott Larson has served on the Bison Backcourt Club (BBC) for two full 3-year terms (5 years as President of the Club). When the BBC held its annual board elections on Monday February 10, 2014 Scott’s name was not on the ballot as he decided not to seek a third term on the board.
Scott will be missed by players, parents, coaches and his fellow board members. Scott has spent countless hours making sure that the BBC stands true to its mission statement.
Bison Backcourt Club Mission Statement:
The Bison Backcourt Club (BBC) is dedicated to the promotion of traveling youth basketball for boys within District 877 boundaries. Our primary goal is to provide fair competition and a learning environment that enhances individual player development and team play.
If you have been a part of the BBC in the past six years, you have seen or been contacted by Scott:
· through e-mails that have kept you informed
· hosting the BBC kick-off meetings
· running practices (whether he was the coach or not)
· at BBC hosted tournaments
· Bison Boys Varsity Games (always volunteering his time to promote a good cause and organizing the halftime event of the night)
The BBC has ten board members. Nine of these members are volunteers and are elected and the tenth member is the Buffalo boy’s varsity head coach. The BBC thought it was appropriate to reach out to current head coach Nick Guida for his thoughts on Scott Larson.
Remarks on the 6 year tenure of Bison Backcourt Club President Mr. Scott Larson:
During my tenure as Boys Basketball Coach in Buffalo, I've had the opportunity to work with many outstanding people in conjunction with our booster organization. It’s truly amazing the amount of time, energy, and sacrifice people put into Bison Basketball and giving kids opportunities to be successful on and off the floor. Scott Larson is no exception! His leadership of the BBC during his 5 year tenure as President has been tremendous. The attention to detail, organizational structure, and commitment to excellence are fingerprints he's left on our basketball program. He should be extremely proud of the impact his work has made on our basketball program and the community of Buffalo as a whole!
Sincerely, thank you Scott for all you've done!
Coach G.
The BBC would like to thank Scott for his years of tireless service as President of the BBC.
Simply stated, Scott was the face of the BBC and he will be missed by all of us who have worked with him.
